A Simplified Originate View and Enhanced Filtering

If you're automating your returns process with Automated RMA Processing, your Originate View will only show you returns that need your attention. But don't worry - if you need to find or view any return, there's a filter for that!

(Note: This only affects users with Automated RMA Processing enabled.)

When Will a Return Be Hidden From my Originate View:

  1. The return types are set to automatically process in your Automated RMA Processing Settings.

  2. The return has been authorized.

  3. The return has no processing errors.

What Can I Filter By?:

  1. Include Archived RMAs - Will display both archived and non-archived RMA’s.

  2. Only Third Party Warranties - Will only display third party warranties

  3. Only RMAs with Errors - Will only display RMA’s with processing errors

  4. Include Automated RMAs - Will displayed RMA’s that are hidden as result of requiring no further action from the merchant

Note: You can select multiple filters for multiple views. i.e. Only Third Party Warranties and Only RMAs with Errors will show you third party warranties with errors.

Flag a Return to Prevent Auto-Processing

More automation is not always better. That's especially true with returns, since there is a good deal of business logic and exceptions involved. With our new flagging feature, you'll be able to prevent returns fraud while still saving hours a week by flagging specific returns to not automatically process.

How to Flag a Return:

  1. Within Originate, select the "Actions" button.

  2. In the dropdown list, select "Flag Return"

If a return is flagged, any return types that may have been automatically processed will need to be processed by your customer service team, and the return will no longer be hidden from the originate home page.

VAT Tax Enhancements

For merchants who adhere to VAT tax policies where tax is included in the price of the product, the tax of your products will not be re-added to the total return amount.

How to Configure These Settings:

Go to your Policy Settings under Originate Settings. There is a new section titled "Include Tax in Product Prices" where you can choose either:

  1. Tax Included - Taxes will not be re-added to the total return amount. (Recommended setting for merchants with VAT)

  2. Tax Excluded - Taxes will be added to the total return amount. (Default setting)

Note: this feature will only affect returns created after the setting was changed.

How This Look in Originate:

When using the "Tax Included" setting, you will no longer be able to edit the tax financial field. Instead the total tax for the return items will be displayed next to the subtotal.

How This Looks to Your Shoppers:

When using the "Tax Included" setting, the financial breakdown on the Review Page of your Return Center will show a message to your shoppers letting them know that taxes are included.

How This Looks in the RMA Items Report:

For returns created after the "Taxed Included" setting was enabled:

  • RMA Total Amount – Price of products purchased + Tax

  • RMA Tax Amount – The price already included in the products

For returns created before the "Taxed Included" setting was enabled:

  • RMA Total Amount – Price of products purchased + Tax

  • RMA Tax Amount – The sales tax that was manually entered within originate before processing the return in most cases it will be $0.

Create Standard International Labels

The beauty of eCommerce is that you can sell anywhere and to anyone. The downside is that can lead to a logistical nightmare. The reality is only a few carriers support international, cross-border return labels. To help widen your carrier options, we're allowing you to create standard shipping labels for your international shoppers. So you can sell to anyone, anywhere with no worries.

How to Configure These Settings:

Go to your Shipping Settings under Originate Settings. There is a new section titled "International Label Generation" where you can choose either:

  1. Standard Shipping Label - All international shipping labels generated will be standard labels that are billed upon creation.

  2. Scan-Based Return Label Only - All international labels generated will be return labels that are billed upon scan. (Default setting)
