Overview:

Trigger a different shipping type based on the return type your shoppers select when in your return center. For example, offer free shipping when the shoppers select exchange, but charge for shipping when the shoppers select refund.

Change Your Shipping Type Association:

  1. Navigate to your Shipping Settings.

  2. Under 'Shipping Type Association', select 'Return Types'.

  3. Save draft and publish settings.

Set Up Your Shipping Type Based on Return Type:

  1. Navigate to your Return Types Settings.

  2. Select the blue pencil icon next to a return type to edit it.

  3. Under 'Shipping Type' select your desired shipping type.

  4. Repeat steps 2 & 3 until all return types have your desired shipping type associated with it.

Priority Association for Multi-Item Returns

Should a shopper select two items with conflicting return type shipping associations, you can set up which shipping type should be prioritized. To do so,

  1. Navigate to your Shipping Settings.

  2. Under 'Shipping Types', drag and drop the shipping type rows to change the priority. The highest priority shipping (1 being higher than 5) will be associated with the return.

Note: Warranty and Deduction Shipping

Since you can't deduct a value from 0, if you associate either Full Deduction or Fixed Deduction Shipping with Warranties, the return will default to the next shipping type on the Priority Association.
