Having Trouble Uploading a File? Here's What to Check

If you're experiencing issues uploading a file to your submission form in Reviewr, try the following troubleshooting steps before reaching out to your event admin.

1. Check for Error Messages

If you try to move forward or submit your form without uploading a required file, an error message will appear at the top of the page. This message will let you know what needs to be completed before continuing.

Note: Upload fields in Reviewr do not display a red asterisk (*), but they are often required to complete the submission.

2. Make Sure Your File Has a Name

Each uploaded file must have a name entered in the "File Name" field. Uploading a file without naming it will result in an error and prevent submission.

3. Check the File You’re Trying to Upload

Several file-related issues can prevent a successful upload:

  • File Type
Ensure your file is in one of the accepted formats listed next to the upload field (e.g., .pdf, .docx, .jpg, etc.).

  • File Size
Check the maximum allowed size for the field (typically 500MB) and confirm your file doesn’t exceed it.

  • Corrupted or Damaged Files
If your file won’t upload despite meeting the type and size requirements, it may be corrupted. Try:

    • Opening the file to test it.

    • Saving a new copy or converting it to another supported format.

4. Browser & Extension Issues

Some browser-related issues may interfere with uploads:

  • Pop-Up Blockers or Extensions
Disable any ad blockers or browser extensions that might interfere with the platform.

  • Browser Caching
If the form appears stuck or unresponsive, your browser may be serving a cached version of the page. Try:

    • Clearing your cache

    • Refreshing the page

    • Reopening the submission form in a private/incognito window

We recommend using an up-to-date version of Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox on a desktop device for best results.

💬 Still Need Help?

If you've tried all of the above and are still unable to upload your file, reach out to your event administrator for further assistance. They can confirm file requirements and help resolve any platform-specific issues.
