Yes, you can let a submitter edit a submission after they've submitted it, as long as two things are true: the submission deadline is still open, and the submission is in a status your event allows submitters to edit. Editable statuses are set under Editable Submission Statuses in Configurations, on the Submission tab. When both are true, the submitter sees an Edit button the next time they log in and open their submission.
This applies to admins. Admins can edit any submission themselves at any time, whatever the deadline or status. Submitters who can't find the Edit button should see Submitter - Why can't I edit my submission?
Before you start
Check the submission deadline. Once the deadline passes, submitters can't edit, even if their status is editable, so extend the deadline first if it has passed.
Check the submission's current status. Pending, Ready and Incomplete are normally editable by submitters. Accepted, Denied and Closed are not. Which statuses count as editable depends on your Editable Submission Statuses setting.
Know whether the submitter still has an active login. If they've lost access to their account, they won't be able to use edit access even once it's open.
Steps
Open Configurations and select the Submission tab.
Under Editable Submission Statuses, make sure the status you plan to use (for example Pending) is ticked, then click Save.
If the submission is already in an editable status, skip to step 6. Otherwise, click Data Management in the left-hand menu and select Submissions.
On the Submissions page, tick the box next to the submission.
In the bottom-left dropdown, choose Mark As and select the editable status (for example Pending).
Tell the submitter to log in and open their submission. They'll now see an Edit button on their submission.
Important: When the submitter clicks Submit again, Reviewr re-sends the program's Thank You email and sets the status back to Ready. If you don't want that, have the submitter click Save & Logout instead, which saves their changes without resubmitting but sets the status to Incomplete.
If that didn't work
The submitter still doesn't see an Edit button
If the submitter still doesn't see an Edit button, check three things: the submission deadline is still open, the submission's status actually changed, and that status is ticked under Editable Submission Statuses. Status and edit permission are two separate settings, and it's easy to update one without the other.
The submitter can't log in
If the submitter can't log in to reach the Edit button, confirm they're using the same email address the submission is attached to. Submitters can reset their own password from the Reviewr login page by clicking Forgot Password.
I need to edit the submission myself, not the submitter
You don't need to change the status or the deadline to edit a submission yourself. On the Submissions page, click the eye icon next to the submission, then click Edit. The steps above are only needed when the submitter is the one making the change.
