How Do I Log in as a Reviewer?

As an Admin, you have the ability to log in as any of your reviewers or judges to see exactly what they see in their portal. This can be incredibly helpful when providing support, troubleshooting access issues, or simply previewing the reviewer experience to ensure everything is configured as expected.

Why Use "Login As"?

Logging in as a reviewer is not just about previewing the portal—it’s a powerful tool that can help with:

  • Troubleshooting: If a reviewer reports an issue (e.g., can’t access evaluations, questions not displaying correctly, navigation confusion), you can replicate their experience and identify the exact problem.

  • Reviewing Setup: Before launching the evaluation round, log in as a test reviewer to check how the scoring forms, submission assignments, and portal layout appear from their perspective.

  • Training and Demos: Use this view to walk reviewers through the portal in a live training session or in documentation/screenshots.

  • Verifying Access: Ensure reviewers are assigned to the correct group, can see the right submissions, and have the proper evaluation tools enabled.

Note: Logging in as a reviewer does not alter their account or evaluation records unless you take action. This is a safe, read/write preview of their environment.

How to Log in as a Reviewer

To log in as a reviewer or judge:

  1. Go to the Admin Dashboard

  2. Click the “Data Management” tab from the lefthand navigation

  3. Select the “Users” page

  4. Click the “Reviewers” tab to see a list of all reviewer accounts

  5. Find the reviewer you want to preview

  6. Click “Login As” next to their name

You will immediately be redirected into that reviewer’s portal and can navigate it just as they would. To return to your Admin view, simply log out and log back in as yourself.

Best Practices

  • Use a test reviewer account before evaluations begin to spot any setup issues.

  • Don’t make evaluation changes while logged in as a live reviewer unless absolutely necessary—especially if evaluations are already in progress.

  • Document issues with screenshots or notes while logged in as the reviewer to assist with support or internal troubleshooting.
