How do I assign a submission to a group?

In Reviewr, assigning submissions to groups determines which reviewers will have access to evaluate them. Groups can be based on categories, locations, rounds, or any other criteria for organizing submissions. Proper group assignment helps ensure reviewers only see the submissions they’re meant to judge, keeps evaluations organized, and supports a fair review process.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. In your admin dashboard, click the Data Management (clipboard icon) on the left-hand navigation bar.

  2. Select Submissions from the menu.

  3. Check the box next to each submission you want to assign.

  4. At the bottom left of the page, open the dropdown menu and select Assign Group.

  5. This will prompt a warning message: "Note that this action will replace any existing assignments with the selections made in the table."

    1. Using the "Assign Groups" bulk action will replace any existing assignments.

    2. If a submission is assigned to a new Group with this action, that submission might lose any existing evaluation assignments from its previous Group.

  6. In the Select Group(s) dropdown, choose the group(s) you want the selected submissions to be assigned to.

  7. Click Save to confirm your changes.

Best Practice

  • Double-check your assignments before the review period begins to ensure each submission is visible only to the intended reviewers.

  • You can assign a submission to more than one group if needed for multi-round or cross-category reviews.
