Understanding File Upload Size Limits

Knowing the maximum file size limits in Reviewr helps ensure a smooth experience for both administrators and submitters. These limits apply to all file uploads—such as images, documents, spreadsheets, videos, and more—whether attached through the submission form, evaluation form, or microsite.

Single File Uploads

When a question or field allows for a single file upload, each individual file can be up to 500 MB in size.
This applies to all file types, including:

  • Images (JPG, PNG, GIF)

  • Documents (PDF, DOC, DOCX)

  • Spreadsheets (XLS, XLSX, CSV)

  • Media files (MP4, MOV, MP3, etc.)

Multiple File Uploads

When a field allows for multiple file uploads, each file is still limited to 500 MB per file.
There is no total combined limit for the question, but each upload must meet the individual file size restriction.

Tips for Best Results

  • Compress large files before uploading using online compression tools or export settings in your software.

  • Use PDFs for documents when possible—they’re reliable and display consistently.

  • If users encounter an upload error, verify that the file size and format meet the allowed limits.

  • Avoid using special characters (like #, %, or &) in filenames, as these can cause upload issues.

Admin Note

Admins can configure which questions accept file uploads within the Form Builder. However, the maximum file size (500 MB) is a system-wide limit and cannot be increased.
