It's important to know what exactly in the Patient Profile will be translated onto claims when you bill insurance, which you can find in the Details tab of the Patient Profile. Below are the areas you will need to be aware of to make sure that you patients are ready to go. Let's break it down!

  • Any fields outlined in red are required to send out claims, and will translate directly to the claim.

  • Any fields in blue are optional to fill out, but will directly affect the claim once filled out:

    • Attorney: this is helpful when you are creating claims for Personal Injury and/or Motor Vehicle Accident cases, and can assist with keeping claims from sending to the clearinghouse if you have that integration.

    • Fee Schedule: if you've created a Fee Schedule that is setup with rules and guidelines given by a specific insurance company, you may apply that Fee Schedule to the Patient Profile so those rules apply to claims created.

    • Referring Provider: this will populate boxes 17 and 17 b

  • Any fields outlined in purple are also optional, and do not translate onto a claim.

    • Case Type: Case Types are a great way of classifying patients. Once added, you can view these in the patient's Contact Card, which follows them throughout their experience in Clerk.

And there you have it! Now your Patient Profile is ready to go! 🀩
