Each practice has their own process on how to handle and send out Claims. In Clerk, there are two options for processing Claims from the Appointment-Associated Invoice: One-Click Claim or Queue For Claim.

The One-Click Claim button will create the claim and set it with a status of Ready to Submit so that at the end of your day, you can easily head to the Insurance Report and Bulk Submit. If you do not see this option on the invoice, then there is information Clerk recognizes as missing that is required in order for a claim to be accepted. You will want to check that the patient's profile is thoroughly filled out, along with the Line Items tab on the Appointment Outcome Page (where you fill out your SOAP notes).

The Queue For Claim button is best for clinics who want to review each Claim before submission. Clicking this will queue that Claim in the Insurance Claims Report and leave it with a status of New. Any Claims in the New status must be reviewed before they can be submitted. To review a New Claim, open the Claim (from the Insurance Claim Report) and review each tab, hitting Next on the bottom right until you hit the Save button on the final page.

Once saved, that Claim's status will update to Ready for Submission and you will then be able to submit that Claim! πŸŽ‰
