If your state requires you to create claims for Personal Injury or Motor Vehicle Accident patients, with claims that are not submitted to your clearinghouse, but rather to an attorney, we got you!
β¨Note:β¨ First, you will want to head to Settings > Insurance Settings > Attorneys and add in any attorneys that you (or your patients) work with. Next, head over to the desired patient's Patient Profile > Details tab > Add the Attorney:
Creating claims for an attorney should have a similar workflow as creating claims for insurance. Once the patient has been seen and they are ready to check out, you will want to go ahead and select Queue for Claim and then hit View Claim:
This will bring you to the manual walkthrough of the claim. Click the Next Step button to bring you to the Insured tab, where you will want to select Yes for Personal Injury:
This will keep the claim from being submitted to insurance if you are integrated with our clearinghouse partners, and it will also keep the claim from populating in the Claims tab.
Once you go through each Next Step to save the information on the claim, the claim may be viewed under the Financials tab of the Patient Profile in the Claims section, with the claim status shown as Submitted to Attorney:
To send these claims out, you may had to Bulk Actions and download the HCFAs. If your clinic has blank HCFAs that you print the claim information onto, you will want to select the option to download the PDFs as is (the first option). If you would like to print the HCFAs with the lines onto a blank piece of paper, you will choose the second option listed:
And just like that, you're all set to get your patients the coverage they need during their P.I. or M.V.A. cases! π€
