How to Set Up and Operate Rewaa POS Devices

Rewaa provides a fully integrated cloud-based POS and accounting platform, along with carefully selected hardware devices that are fully compatible with the system. This guide covers the devices offered and how to set them up and operate them smoothly.

ℹ️ If you prefer to use your own devices instead of Rewaa recommended hardware, we advise reviewing the Minimum Requirements to Operate Rewaa Platform to ensure compatibility.

POS Devices

Cashier Device – Windows Operating System

A Windows-based point-of-sale terminal with a touchscreen display, used to access the Rewaa platform via the Google Chrome browser.

Availability

Available for all customers except those in the Restaurants and Cafés segment.

System Requirement

Not included.

Requires internet connection via Wi-Fi or Ethernet with a minimum download speed of 10 Mbps and upload speed of 1 Mbps

Installation Steps

1. Hold the base firmly while adjusting the screen to the preferred viewing angle.

2. Connect the power cable and turn on the device using the power button located at the bottom right of the screen.

3. Connect to the internet via Wi-Fi or Ethernet.

4. Log in to the Rewaa platform using your email and password through the Google Chrome browser.

You may connect a keyboard and mouse if needed. These components are not included with the device. For best performance and speed, we recommend using the device solely for operating the Rewaa platform and not for other purposes.

Cashier Device – Android Operating System

An Android-based point-of-sale device equipped with a dual touchscreen — one for the cashier and one for the customer. It supports NFC payments and is fully compatible with the Rewaa Cashier app, which is used to access and operate the Rewaa platform. This device is designed specifically for customers in the Restaurants and Cafés segment.

Requires internet connection via Wi-Fi or Ethernet, with a minimum download speed of 10 Mbps and upload speed of 1 Mbps

Installation Steps

1. Connect the power cable and turn on the device.

2. Press the power button located at the bottom right of the base until the screen lights up.

3. Connect to the internet via Wi-Fi or Ethernet.

4. Log in to the Rewaa platform using the Rewaa Cashier app with your email and password.

Receipt Printer (Rewaa)

A high-speed thermal printer used to print receipts directly from the Rewaa platform after completing sales transactions.

The printer comes with a short paper roll intended for initial testing only. Customers may purchase compatible receipt paper rolls from printing supply or stationery stores as needed.

Installation Steps – For Windows and Android Devices

  1. Open the printer cover and insert the paper roll so that the paper feeds from the top.

  2. Connect the power cable to the printer and power outlet.

  3. Connect the printer to the POS device using the USB cable.

Barcode Label Printer

A specialized printer designed for printing adhesive barcode labels.

It is used to streamline in-store sales and inventory processes by enabling high-precision barcode printing.

This enhances the speed of barcode scanning during sales and improves inventory organization during stocktaking operations.

The printer does not come with a label roll. Customers can purchase compatible label rolls from printing supply or stationery stores as needed.

  1. Open the printer cover, insert the label roll, and use the roll-centering component to secure it in the middle of the printer.

  2. Connect the printer to the Windows POS device using the USB cable.

A device used to read printed barcodes on products.

It helps speed up sales and inventory operations by automatically entering data into the Rewaa platform when scanning a barcode.

  1. Use the USB cable to connect the scanner to the POS device.

  2. Assemble and secure the stand properly.

  3. Insert and tighten the screw in its correct position.

  4. Tilt the scanner slightly as needed, then place it into the stand.

Handheld POS Device

A portable Android-based device that combines point-of-sale functionality and receipt printing in a compact, lightweight design.

It supports wireless connectivity and features a high-resolution touchscreen along with a built-in thermal printer for printing payment receipts.

Using the Device Independently from the Platform

This device can operate independently from the Rewaa platform to process sales, print receipts, and accept payments through the Rewaa Cashier app — provided the customer is subscribed to the Rewaa Pay service.

Installation Steps – For Windows Integration

  1. Connect to the internet via Wi-Fi.

  2. Open the device cover and insert the paper roll so that the paper feeds from the top.

  3. To link the POS device, open the Rewaa Pay app > go to Settings > select Remote, then enter the verification code displayed on the Rewaa Pay app. This step is required only once when opening the cashier.

  1. What is the difference between the Android-based cashier device and the Windows-based one?

    The Android device features a dual-screen setup and supports payment acceptance. It operates the Rewaa platform through the Rewaa Cashier app instead of a browser and is designed specifically for restaurants and cafés.

  2. Do the devices require a constant internet connection?

    Yes, all devices require a stable internet connection when using the Rewaa platform, whether through a browser or the Rewaa Cashier app.

  3. Do the devices come with a warranty? If so, for how long?

    Yes, the devices come with a 2-year warranty starting from the invoice date. The warranty covers free repair or replacement for devices with manufacturing defects.

  4. Are new devices provided upon subscription renewal?

    No, renewing your subscription does not include new devices. If needed, devices must be purchased separately.

  5. Can I purchase devices separately without subscribing to Rewaa?

    Yes, you can. Some customers prefer to buy additional devices when they have multiple cashier points, as the subscription packages include hardware for one cashier only.

  6. Can I subscribe to Rewaa without purchasing any hardware?

    Yes, you can. All one-year subscription plans are available without hardware.

  7. Can I use third-party devices?

    We strongly recommend using Rewaa officially supported hardware to ensure optimal performance and avoid compatibility issues with the platform.

  8. Does Rewaa support cashier devices from other brands?

    Rewaa supports specific minimum technical requirements. Supported operating systems include Microsoft Windows, Android, and Chrome OS.

    Devices running on iOS (such as Mac, iPhone, iPad) are not supported.

  9. Does Rewaa support printers or cashier devices from other brands?

    As a brand, we recommend Epson printers released after 2014, such as the TM-m30II and TM-m30III.
