Printing Product Barcodes

Barcodes are printed codes consisting of parallel black lines with the SKU (Stock Keeping Unit) underneath. These barcodes are affixed to products to simplify operations such as sales or stocktaking. The Rewaa platform generates a unique barcode for each product, which can be read using barcode scanners. Below are the steps and instructions for printing barcodes.

Pre-Printing Instructions

  • Ensure you have a barcode-compatible printer and appropriate barcode label paper.

  • Install and configure the printer on the computer you’ll use for printing.

Steps to Print Barcodes

  • Access Product List:
    Go to Products & Inventory > Products.

  • Select Products:
    Check the box (✔) next to the products for which you want to print barcodes.

  • Choose Print Option:
    Click Actions > Print Barcode.

  • Customize Barcode Details:
    Select the details to include on the barcode, such as:

    • SKU or Barcode

    • Retail Price or Sales Price

    • Branch Location (if applicable)

    • Number of Copies

    • Barcode Data: Includes company name, product name, price, tax type, and barcode.

    • Size: Standard or expanded size (depends on the label paper dimensions).

  • Print Barcode:
    Click Print.

  • Printer Settings:

    • Select the barcode printer from the list of available printers.

    • Click the arrow next to More Settings to adjust printer settings if needed.

    • Click Print to finalize.

User Permissions for Printing Barcodes

To grant a user the ability to print barcodes without accessing product details:

  • Navigate to User Settings:
    Go to Settings > Users.

  • Edit User Permissions:
    Click the icon (⚙️) next to the user and select Edit User.

  • Go to User Permissions, and make sure the Custom option is enabled.

  • Set Permissions:

    • Under Product Permissions > Product list expand the list and activate Read.

  • Expand Product Details and activate Print Barcode.

  • Save Changes:
    Click Save Custom User.

    The user will now see the inventory and can print barcodes using Actions > Print Barcode.

  1. Can barcodes be printed when adding products through purchase invoices?
    Barcodes can only be printed from the inventory section, not purchase invoices.

  2. Can I print multiple barcode copies?
    Yes, specify the number of copies in the Number of Copies field.
