Sales by Time Period Report

Reviewing sales periodically is essential for gaining a better understanding of your business performance. This enables you to make informed decisions regarding product purchases from suppliers, adjusting selling prices, organizing promotions, and identify peak customer seasons. The Sales by Time Period Report provides a comprehensive overview of your sales, including graphical representations of sales trends and top-selling products, as well as detailed tables of all sales during a specific period.

Accessing the Report

  • Navigate to: Reports > Sales > Sales by Time Period.

  • The report shows all the details, and you can filter and sort the search results.

ℹ️ All the report results are displayed based on the selected time period and filter options.

Report Details

You can view the following information:

Total Number of Invoices

The number of invoices that were issued "Sales and return invoices via the POS"

Total Sales

The sum of completed sales {Tax Exclusive} while deducting the returns and discounts.

Total Tax

The sum of the total tax collected from the sales of products subject to tax at all rates.

Total Sales (Tax Inclusive)

The sum of completed sales {Tax Inclusive} while deducting the returns and discounts.

Total Sold Quantity

The quantity sold to the customer in the selected product.

Total Returned Quantity

The quantity returned to the customer in the selected product.

Total Cost Of Goods Sold

The total cost of products sold while deducting the total cost of products that got returned.

Total Gross Margin

The Sales {Tax Exclusive} discounted from the total cost of goods sold.

  • Daily Sales Chart (Tax Exclusive) for the Selected Time Period.

  • Monthly Sales Chart (Tax Exclusive) for Each Month.

Sales Per Product

  • Transaction Date: The date of the transaction.

  • Product Name / SKU: The name or ID of the product.

  • Location: The location where the sale occurred.

  • Quantity: The quantity of products actually sold, with the returned quantity deducted.

  • Sales: The sum of completed product sales {Tax Exclusive} while deducting the returns and discounts.

  • Cost per Unit: The cost (Weighted average cost) for selling the product.

  • Gross Margin: The Sales Tax Exclusive is discounted from the total cost of goods sold.

  • Discount: The total amount of the discounts applied when selling the product.

  • Sales Tax: The amount of sales tax collected for the products subjected to tax at all rates.

  • Sales (Tax Inclusive): The sum of completed sales Tax Inclusive, while deducting the returns and discounts.

ℹ️ The table contains multiple columns and data. Use the horizontal scrollbar to view all columns.

  • Top 5 Best-Selling Products in the Selected Time Period.

  • Sales by Location (Tax Exclusive).

Exporting the Report

To Export Report Details

  • Click Export, then select (xlsx). An Excel file will be downloaded to your device, and you can view it after the download is complete.

To Export Report Summary or Top-Selling Products

  • Click on the appropriate option. An Excel file will be downloaded to your device, and you can view it after the download is complete.


FAQs

1- Where are e-commerce sales displayed?
E-commerce sales appear under the branch linked to the e-commerce platform. For example, if an e-commerce store is linked to the Riyadh branch, its sales will be reflected in the Riyadh branch's data.

2- How can I view total sales of each product on a specific day?

Yes, click on the Filter option, select the date, then click Apply. All details will be displayed.

3- Can I restrict user access to this report?
Yes, follow these steps:

  • Go to Settings > Users > ⚙️> Edit User.

  • Under User Permissions, navigate to Reports > Report List > Enable Read.

  • Navigate to Sales Reports.

  • Go to the Sales By Time Period, then enable the appropriate permissions for the user.

  • Click Save Custom User to apply the changes.
