Stock Value Report

The Stock Value Report provides the total cost of products in stock, calculated by multiplying the cost per unit by the available quantity of each product. This report aids in financial performance analysis, pricing strategies, profitability evaluations, and overall business success. You can view the total Stock Value on the dashboard and analyze individual product values by branch through this report.

Accessing the Report

  • Navigate to:
    Reports > Inventory > Stock Value.

  • Use the search field to find a specific product or filter data by location/branch.

Report Details

The report contains two sections:

  1. Product Details by Branch: Displays the Stock Value for each product by branch.

  2. Summary Section: Shows the total Stock Value for each product across all branches.

For each product, the report includes:

  • Product Name: The name of the product.

  • Location: The branch where the product is stored.

  • Quantity: The quantity available in stock.

  • Cost: The cost per unit.

  • Inventory Value: Total value of the product in the specified branch (calculated as quantity × cost).

Exporting the Report

To export the report:

  1. Click on the three dots in the top-right corner.

  2. Select xlsx.

  3. The file will download to your device.


FAQ

1. Can I view the Stock Value for a specific period?

  • No, Stock Value is calculated based on the current stock quantity and cost; it cannot be viewed for a specific time period.

2. How can I find the total Stock Value?

  • Navigate to the Home to view the total Stock Value for all products. You can filter by branch or view the total across all branches.

3. Why does the Stock Value show as "0" for some products?

  • Stock Value is calculated as cost × quantity. If either cost or quantity is unavailable, the value will appear as "0."

4. How can I identify the most valuable or least valuable products?

  • Click on the Stock Value column to sort products by value. Clicking once sorts from highest to lowest, and clicking again sorts from lowest to highest.

5. Can user access to the Stock Value Report be restricted?

  • Yes, follow these steps:

    • Navigate to Settings > Users > ⚙️ > Edit User.

  • Choose Custom under User Permissions.

  • Go to the Reports section.

  • Enable all permissions under the Reports List to grant the user full access.

  • Expand Inventory Reports and enable permissions for the Stock Value as needed.

  • Click Save Custom User to apply the settings.

    When a user accesses their account, reports will be displayed based on the assigned permissions.
