What’s the difference between a warranty and a statutory consumer claim?

A commercial warranty is extra, voluntary coverage offered by a brand or retailer. It may provide additional benefits, but it is not required by law.

A statutory consumer claim is your legal right to a remedy if a product has an original defect or does not conform to what was agreed. This right applies within the statutory period, even if no commercial warranty exists.
