Teacher Tips allow teachers and administrators to quickly see which groups of students are facing a similar needs and what actions a teacher can take to address those needs - in 3 minutes or less. The following sections take an in-depth look at the different features of Teacher Tips, including Response Groups and the criteria we use to determine which students appear in each group.
Teacher Tips - In Detail
The Rhithm Dashboard allows teachers and administrators to view assessment data and notes for students and other groups at their school.
Now, we offer a new type data viewing option known as Response Groups. These Response Groups show a list of students who are experiencing similar trends and concerns. These groupings are based off the number of times a student provides a certain answer in a given amount of time on the Essential Wellness Check-In.
We currently offer the following groupings:
Low Energy (Students responding "dull" or "foggy" and "tired" or "exhausted")
Hungry (coming soon)
Anxiety (coming soon)
Angry (coming soon)
High Energy (coming soon)
Low Mood (coming soon)
Social Struggles (coming soon)
Please note that this feature is not currently available for the Simplified Assessment, Custom Assessments, or if a student is on multiple campuses.
Navigating the Response Groups
Depending on your role, you can browse assessment data for Response Groups on the Rhithm Dashboard.
In the Entity List, you will see an option for "Response Groups." Click on this button to see the various groupings. You can expand each group to see the list of all students who are experiencing the particular sentiment or emotion.
If you do not see any students listed under the Response Group, this can mean one of two things. If you are using Rhithm regularly, then your students may be doing well and are not experiencing that particular sentiment. If your class is not using Rhithm regularly, then it may be that we need more data on your students to group them by the specified concern.
Navigating the new Teacher Tips page
For each Response Group, there is a corresponding Teacher Tips option. Clicking on the Teacher Tips button will navigate you to the Teacher Tips page with dedicated content for each Response Group type.
For each Response Group, Rhithm offers a selection of curated content in both video and article format to help you address your students' specific needs. You can also view which of your students are experiencing that particular sentiment.
The clinical team was mindful that different students need different intervention for similar issues based on needs. And, often the same intervention can be helpful across age groups with some adaptations.
Therefore, the clinical team made a combination of videos; some are applicable for teachers who teach all students K-12, while others are directed towards teachers working specifically with either younger or older students.
Sharing Feedback with the Rhithm Team
As a new product offering, we are always seeking feedback from our users! Under each Response Group you'll see the following question "Is this list accurate?" whenever a list of students is available.
The students presented in each Response Group list are curated based on how the students respond to the assessment questions in a given number of check-ins over time. We recognize that each student, teacher, and school are unique and a one-size-fits-all approach to presenting students will not work. For that reason, we hope to get feedback from our users to understand how helpful and accurate the list is in surfacing those students who need help the most.
If you believe the students in that list are not experiencing that particular sentiment or emotion, please let us know by clicking on the "No" button. This will open a support modal with the option to leave us more feedback if you'd like.
If you believe the students in the list is an accurate reflection of your classroom, we encourage you to let us know by answering "Yes" in the question.
The Rhithm grouping criteria used to show the list of students will change over time as we collect feedback from our users and refine our algorithm.
Currently we use the following grouping criteria for each Response Group type, listed below. This grouping criteria was created based on a combination of factors including the average number of check-ins across all schools, the percentage of responses which fit into a response group across all possible responses, and clinical expertise.
"Low Energy" is defined as students responding "dull" or "foggy" AND "tired" or "exhausted"
All students who respond with "Low Energy" 2x in 28 consecutive days
All students who respond with "Angry" 1x in 28 consecutive days
"Low Mood" is defined as responding either "down" or "sad"
All students who respond with "Low Mood" 2x in 28 consecutive days
"High Energy" is defined as "Out of Control" or "Hyper" AND "Racing" or "Distracted"
All students who respond with "High Energy" 2x in 28 consecutive days
Defined as "Bad" or "Conflict" or "Disagreement"
All students who respond with "Social Struggles" 2x in 28 consecutive days
All students who respond with "Anxious" 2x in 28 consecutive days
All students who respond with "Hungry" 3x in the past 28 days
