As a payroll admin, you may need to manage the Absence Type options available for your team—whether that means adding new types, renaming existing ones, deactivating options no longer in use, or cleaning up unused entries.

All of these updates are done from the Company Settings > Picklists section in the Rhumbix Web platform.

Accessing the Absence Type Picklist

  1. Open the Rhumbix Web platform

  2. Select “Company Settings” in the left navigation menu
From the left-hand menu, click Company Settings.

  3. Navigate to the "Picklists" tab
    Click the Picklists tab.

  4. Select "Modify" Absence Types
This opens the Absence Types dashboard

Adding New Absence Type Options

  1. Click “Add Row”
A new row will appear in the list.

  2. Enter the Absence Type name
In the Absence Type field, type the name of the new option (e.g., “Bereavement”, “Union Holiday”).

  3. Add additional rows if needed
You can click Add Row again to enter multiple new Absence Types at once.

  4. Click “Save and Close”
When you're done adding all your new options, scroll to the bottom of the list and click Save and Close.

Tip: New Absence Types will immediately become available in all timekeeping workflows.

Editing, Activating, Deactivating, or Deleting Absence Types

  1. Select the checkbox next to an Absence Type
You can check one or more rows to apply a bulk action.

  2. Use the action buttons in the top blue action bar:

    • Activate to make a previously inactive option available again.

    • Deactivate to hide an option from future selection (without removing past usage).

    • Delete to permanently remove an option.

⚠️ Important: You can only delete an Absence Type if it has never been used in any records.
