The Permissions Dashboard in Rhumbix gives users and administrators visibility into who has access to what — and why. Whether you're a field user verifying your project access or an admin resolving a permissions issue, this dashboard simplifies access management across Projects, Groups, Cohorts, and Teams.
🚪 Accessing the Permissions Dashboard
To open the dashboard:
Expand User Settings in the left navigation pane.
Click on Permissions Dashboard.
🔒 Note: The Permissions Dashboard is only available via the web version of Rhumbix and is not accessible through mobile devices or the mobile app.
👤 View-Only Mode (All Users)
All users can:
See their current permissions for Projects, Groups, Cohorts, and Teams.
Understand the source of each permission — whether it's granted directly or inherited from a role, group, or cohort.
🔍 Understanding Permission Sources
Each item includes a label indicating how access was granted:
Direct – Assigned specifically to you.
Role-based – Granted via your assigned Role.
Group/Cohort-based – Inherited from your membership in a Group or Cohort.
You can hover over the info icon next to the source for additional context.
🛠️ Admin Mode (Admin Roles Only)
Admins see an additional search bar at the top of the dashboard, which allows them to:
Search for any user within the organization.
View that user’s permissions in the same structured layout.
Manage access by adding or removing direct assignments.
⚠️ Important: Admins cannot edit inherited permissions (e.g., those from Roles or Groups) through the dashboard. To change these, navigate to the appropriate Role or Group settings.
✅ All changes made via the Permissions Dashboard are recorded in the audit log, ensuring traceability and compliance.
📘 Permissions Scope
Currently, the dashboard reflects access related to:
Projects
Groups
Cohorts
Teams
Timekeeping Roles (e.g., Reviewer, Approver)
❗ It does not include permissions related to specific Forms or non-Timekeeping feature areas.
🔁 Definitions: Groups vs. Teams
Although sometimes used interchangeably in conversation, Groups and Teams are distinct in Rhumbix:
Groups often represent business units or reporting structures (e.g., “Charlotte Division”).
Teams are typically project-level configurations used for filtering timekeeping data or assigning reviewers.
Your dashboard will list both if you have access through either structure.
✅ Best Practices
Review before assigning: Check the dashboard before adding direct access to avoid duplicating inherited permissions.
Use as a diagnostic tool: Quickly troubleshoot why a user can or cannot see certain records.
Clean up outdated access: Use the dashboard to identify and remove direct permissions that are no longer needed.
