When using Clock-In/Clock-Out (CICO) on mobile, time can be allocated across multiple cost codes using the percentage method. This is helpful when a worker’s or crew's time needs to be split proportionally rather than by entering exact hours.
This article walks through how to allocate time by percentage from a mobile device after a CICO shift has been recorded.
📌 Before You Start
Keep these rules in mind when using percentage allocation:
Percentage allocation is available only for time entered using CICO
You can allocate time only within the project the worker clocked into
All percentages must total 100%
Rounding may occur and may require manual adjustment before submission
🕐 Allocating Time by Percentage on Mobile
Log into the Rhumbix mobile app
Confirm the date is set correctly.
Select the Project.
When using the percentage method, you must select the project the worker used when clocking in/clocking out via Kiosk.
Select one or more Cost Codes to allocate time to.
Tap Next to open the timecard details.
Tap into the ST (Straight Time) field for one of the cost codes.
When prompted, choose Percentage instead of Hours.
Enter the percentage for each cost code:
Tap Save Changes.
⏱️ Reviewing & Adjusting Rounding
After saving, you may see a message indicating the allocated time is off by a few minutes.
This happens because:
Percentage allocation uses rounding
Rounding can cause small discrepancies (for example, 10–15 minutes)
To fix this:
Tap back into the affected time entry.
Manually adjust the hours so the total matches the original CICO time.
Confirm the allocation is now balanced.
✅ Submitting the Work Shift
Once the allocation is correct, tap Submit Work Shift.
The time entry is now saved and visible on both:
Mobile
Web (for admins, payroll, and review)
If needed, time entries can still be edited later from the web to review original clock-in and clock-out times.
🖥️ Viewing the Allocated Time on Web (Optional)
On web, allocated time will appear split across cost codes based on the entered percentages. If exceptions are enabled (such as SECO variance thresholds), the entries may be highlighted for review.
💡 Helpful Tips
If you need exact time splits, use the hours method instead of percentages
Percentage allocation works best when the split is approximate and proportional
Always review rounding before submitting the shift to avoid small discrepancies
