Rhumbix allows you to add items to your modifier picklists when in the field. This is important because sometimes you don't want to wait for an admin to add this data for you when you are creating a timecard in the field. This feature makes life easier for the foreman or other timecard creators!

I'll walk you through how to turn this feature on and how to implement it.

To start with, you must check to see that you have Timekeeping Modifiers turned on in your account. If you do not, you can ask your Rhumbix representative to assist with this. Once this is turned on, you can manage these settings by going to Company Settings > Timekeeping Modifiers in the left nav of your screen.

On this page (see screenshot below), find the modifier you wish to edit, for example the Tools modifier below. In the same row as your modifier, under the "Allow New Values" column, you can add the roles that you wish to grant access to this feature. So if you just want your PMs to do this, you can add PM, or if you want everyone to be able to do this, you can add all of the roles, as seen below.

Once this is activated for a specific modifier, users will be able to type in the modifier they are looking for and if that modifier does not exist, then they will have the ability to create a new modifier.

The system will them ask you to confirm the modifier name.

After you confirm this name, the item will be added to the picklist for everyone to see and select.

Because we recognize that sometimes people will add items that need to be adjusted, we allow for remapping of items in the picklist. In the example below, we have item "100" that we want to map to "10mm socket". To remap this item, you simply go to Company Settings > Picklists and then click on the checkbox next to the item you wish to delete, then select "Delete" from the top of the screen. This will prompt a pop-up window that allows you to remap this item to the correct item on your list. This will then adjust every timecard entry that used "100" as a modifier to now say "10mm socket".

You also have the ability to manage access by project to these items. To do this you can go to your picklist and then click Modify, from there you pick the specific item on your picklist and click Modify again. This opens up the screen below where you can select the project or groups of projects that you wish to grant access to this item on your picklist.

As always, if you have any questions please contact your Rhumbix representative and we will be happy to help you with your specific needs.
