Rental issues during starting and ending have different causes. Here's how to identify and fix each.
Trouble starting your rental
When you start a rental, your card is checked to confirm it’s valid — no charge is made at this stage. If you’re having trouble, it’s a Bluetooth or connectivity issue. Try the steps below:
* Hard reset the app by fully closing the PADL App
* Turn your Bluetooth off and then on
* Relaunch PADL App and try to connect again
Please also make sure your device is allowing PADL to access Bluetooth.
Apple iOS 13.1 and above
Go to your device Settings App.
Tap Privacy & Security.
Tap Bluetooth.
Tap the PADL app.
Enable Bluetooth.
Android 12 and above
Go to your device Settings App.
Scroll down and tap Apps.
Scroll down and tap the PADL app.
Tap Permissions or Nearby devices permissions
Make sure nearby devices are allowed.
If you don't see this setting, search "nearby device permissions" and turn this on.
Android 11 and lower
Go to your device Settings App.
Scroll down and tap Apps.
Scroll down and tap the PADL app.
Tap Permissions.
Tap Location.
Select Allow when using app.
If you don't see this setting, search "nearby device permissions" and turn this on.
Trouble ending your rental
Ending your rental is when the actual charge is processed. In addition to Bluetooth or connectivity issues, two other things can prevent a rental from ending:
Poor cell or Wi-Fi signal — move to a spot with better reception and try again
Bank authorization needed — your bank may need to approve the charge. Check your banking app for any pending authorization requests, or try a different payment method in the PADL app
