What are predefined validations and how to configure them?

Updated over 4 months ago

We explain what the predefined validations are and how you can configure them from the Rindegastos web platform.

Topics you’ll find in this article:

What are predefined validations?

Predefined validations are standard validations provided by Rindegastos that you can use for your company without having to set them up from scratch.

Using predefined validations saves you time by offering ready-made options that can be applied to your company’s needs, simplifying the configuration process.

How to set up predefined validations?

Setting up and configuring predefined validations in Rindegastos is easy. Just follow these steps:

  1. In the "Administrator" menu, select “Validations.”

  2. Click on "+ Create Validation."

  3. Choose "From template" and click "Continue."

  4. From the list provided by Rindegastos, select the predefined validation you want to use for expenses or reports. Here you'll find the most common validations for your company.

  5. To use a predefined validation, activate the "Restrictive Validation" option if you want the Submitter to be unable to submit the expense or report if it does not meet the validation criteria.

If the validation is not restrictive, you'll have the following options:

  • Hidden for Submitters: Enable this option to ensure only Approvers can see the validation without meeting the criteria.

  • Restrictive for report closure: Enable this option to ensure Approvers cannot close the Report if the validation is not met.

  1. Activate the "Apply only if field exists" option so that the validation only runs if the field exists in the expense or report.

  2. Select the policy to which you want to apply the validation. You can choose one, several, or all of the expense policies you have created.

  3. Write the “Alert for Submitters” that users will see when creating or approving expenses and reports.

  4. Finally, select "Save Validation."

That’s it! It’s that simple to use and configure predefined validations from the admin role.
