Adding and Deleting Budget Categories and Account Codes

Learn how to add and delete categories and codes from a Project Budget.

NAVIGATING TO A DRAFT BUDGET

To edit or modify a Project Budget first navigate to the Budget section of the particular project you wish to revise.

Select the Existing Draft Budget you wish to revise. If there is not a Draft Budget already, you may create one by clicking the Create New Draft button.

ADD A NEW BUDGET CATEGORY

To Add a new Budget Category to the Project click on the top right icon which is located in the header row of of the Budget page.

Click "Add Category".

You will now see a "New Category" along with a new Budget Account Code has been created which you may edit to the correct names and values.

ADD A NEW BUDGET ACCOUNT CODE TO AN EXISTING CATEGORY

To Add a new BUDGET ACCOUNT CODE Item to an existing or newly created Category click on the right icon for the Category you wish to add the new code and select "Add Code".

A new Budget Code will be created which you may edit to the correct name and values for your Project Budget.

Subcategories may also be created through the same process by clicking the "Add Subcategory option available in the Category menu.

DELETING BUDGET CATEGORIES

A BUDGET CATEGORY may be deleted from a Draft Budget by clicking the Categories Menu button on the right side of the page and clicking "Delete Category"

HELPFUL HINTS

  1. Deleted Budget Codes & Categories will be visible to users until a Draft budget is Approved when they are fully removed from view.

  2. Every budget row has a Undelete option so if you change your mind you can always undo your deletions.
