Finding the right driver starts with telling us where you need them. The postcode and search radius are the most important tools for defining your search area. Getting this right ensures you see the most relevant, local drivers who are ready to get the job done.

This guide will walk you through how to set your location and search radius effectively.

Why This Step Matters

  • It filters the list to show only drivers within a practical distance of your job, saving you time.

  • A well-set radius gives you a better view of all available drivers and their competitive rates.

  • It ensures that only drivers who can realistically reach the location receive your job request.

Setting Your Location

Follow these steps on the Requests page.

1. Enter the Job Postcode

In the "Where" section, you'll see a field labelled Postcode.

Enter the four-digit postcode for the yard or primary location where the driver is needed. This postcode acts as the central anchor point for your search.

2. Can't Remember the Postcode?

If you're unsure of the correct postcode:

πŸ“ Click the Find My Postcode link located below the input field.

πŸ“ Use the NZ Post search tool that appears to find the correct postcode by entering an address.

3. Set Your Search Radius

Below the postcode, you'll find the Search Radius slider.

πŸ“ Click and drag the slider to set the distance (in kilometres) from your postcode that you want to search. The number of available drivers will update based on the area you set.

Tips for an Effective Search

  • Start Wide, Then Narrow: We recommend starting with a wider radius (e.g., 50km or more). This shows you the maximum number of available drivers, giving you more choice and a better overview of hourly rates in the region.

  • Narrow for Urgent Jobs: If you have an urgent, short-notice job, a smaller radius (e.g., 10-20km) can help you focus on drivers who are closest and can likely arrive sooner.

  • Consider Location: For rural or remote locations, you will need a much wider radius to find available drivers.
