Dropping Calls can be caused by low coverage, or faulty handset.

What you need to do:

  1. "Were you moving at the time or stationary?"

    • If original location had good coverage and you moved out of coverage this could cause the call to drop.

  2. "If you have been in this area before, have you had problems previously?"

    • If you have been here before and never had problems, it is more than likely will be a hardware fault, as coverage has increased not decreased. If you have never been there before the area may not have significant coverage to maintain the call.

  3. "Did the phone power off?"

    • Dropped calls should only cut off the call; it should not power the phone off. Check battery level, if good this could be a phone issue. Try reset network settings, hard restart of the device, re-seat SIM etc. If none of the above works, try a factory reset. If this still doesn't resolve the issue, device may need to be replaced.

  4. "Was the phone hand held or in a hands free kit?"

    • If you were travelling in a vehicle without a hands free kit, this can be a cause for the call to drop off.
For example: The phone is very similar to your car radio - it requires an external aerial to receive good signal. On occasion you will be fine but to receive good signal it would be best to use with a hands free kit.

  5. "Are you in an area with Coverage?"

    • There are various factors that may affect coverage. You may want to check our mobile coverage map found in our Rocket Mobile website.
