Transferring Your Number and Data Plan to an eSIM

Ready to switch from a physical SIM to an eSIM with Rocket Mobile? Here's what you need to know:

  • Switching to eSIM: You can transfer your number and data plan from your old physical SIM to a new eSIM with Rocket Mobile.

  • Device Compatibility: Our eSIMs are designed specifically for smartphones. Unfortunately, they aren’t supported on Apple Watches or other smartwatches at this time.

Our eSIM plans are optimized to provide top-notch performance on smartphones, ensuring a seamless experience. While we aim to expand compatibility in the future, for now, please use the eSIM on your smartphone only.

Trouble with Your New eSIM? Here's How to Fix It

Having issues with your new eSIM? No worries - we'll get you sorted with these simple steps.

Common eSIM Issues and Solutions

If Your New eSIM Won't Activate:

  1. Check Your Settings First

    • Go to Settings > Mobile Data > Add Data Plan

    • If you see your old eSIM, you'll need to remove it first

  2. Remove Your Old eSIM

    • Go to Settings > Mobile Data

    • Select your existing Rocket Mobile eSIM

    • Scroll down and tap "Remove eSIM"

    • If the option is greyed out, restart your phone and try again

  3. Scan Your New QR Code

    • Make sure you're connected to WiFi

    • Open your camera and scan the QR code we sent you

    • Follow the on-screen prompts to complete activation

💡 Quick Tip: Keep your QR code handy until you're sure everything's working & please don't delete your old eSIM until you've successfully activated the new one.

Moving Your Rocket Mobile Service to a New Phone

Got a flash new phone? Here's how to get your Rocket Mobile service up and running on it. Whether you're using a physical SIM or eSIM, we've got you sorted.

For iPhone:

  1. Back up your old iPhone to iCloud (This is a personal choice)

  2. When setting up your new iPhone, choose "Transfer from iPhone"

  3. Follow the prompts - your eSIM will transfer automatically

  4. If this doesn't work, you can scan your original eSIM QR code again

For Android:

Before You Start

  1. Start Your New Phone Setup

    1. When setting up your new phone, wait until you see "Connect to a Mobile Network"

  2. Choose Transfer Option

    1. Look for and tap "Transfer SIM From Another Device"

  3. Check Your Old Phone

    1. A message will pop up on your old phone, just tap "Next" to continue.

  4. Scan & Connect

    1. Your old phone will show a QR code. Use your new phone to scan this code Hold steady - it only takes a moment!

  5. Finish Up

    1. On your new phone, tap "Connect & Transfer". Wait a few moments while everything transfers over!
