How to create a Roofr Catalog

Learn how to create comprehensive item listings for your Roofr catalog. This guide covers setting up accurate pricing, configuring area mapping, and adding all the essential details needed to manage your job materials effectively.

The Roofr catalog is your comprehensive library of job items—including materials (shingles, nails, etc.), labor, and other resources. These items appear in your proposals and can be ordered through material orders.

How to Create a Roofr Catalog

How to manually add items to your Roofr catalog

1) Add new item

2) Edit the item details

  • Click Edit on the line item

  • Select the measurement associated with the item from the dropdown

💡For flat or sloped areas you can map the item to square feet (sqft) or squares (squares). Be sure to select your preferred measurement type correctly.

  • In the Coverage field; Set the amount of sqft or linear feet a single unit of this material covers (e.g. per bundle or roll)

  • Enter the unit type that this item comes in

3) Edit the item cost

  • Enter the pre-tax cost for a single unit of this item

  • Waste percentage (optional): Add a waste percentage if you want it automatically calculated for this item. You can add waste at the proposal level instead of setting it on individual items in the catalog

  • Tax percentage (optional): Add in the sales tax (The tax customer pays to you) and the material purchase tax (The tax you pay when purchasing materials)


How to add items in bulk from roofing systems to your Roofr catalog

1) Access roofing systems

  • Navigate to your Roofr Catalog

  • Click Manage catalog then Import from Roofr Jumpstart

  • Click Start Setup

2) Select Items

In the left hand panel;

  • Select/deselect the Roofing systems you would like to include in your catalog

  • Select/deselect the Generic item block of items

In the right hand panel;

  • Select/deselect the individual items you wish to include in your catalog

3) Preview and Save

  • Click Preview Items

  • Remove any unwanted items

  • Click Save in catalog to finalize

💡Imported items will include associated measurement, coverage and unit. You will need to add your individual unit cost and optional waste/tax.


How to add items via CSV to your Roofr catalog

1) Download Your Roofr Catalog CSV

  • Navigate to the Catalog section of your Roofr Dashboar

  • Click Manage catalog then, Download CSV

or

Add new catalog items using a CSV template

  • Navigate to the Catalog section of your Roofr Dashboard

  • Click Manage catalog then, Upload catalog

  • Select Add new catalog items

2) Add Items

  • Open the CSV file

  • Add items following the column layout provided

  • Save the edited CSV file

💡The column headers must remain as is and information should follow the template provided in the downloaded CSV.

3) Re-Upload the CSV

  • Back in your Roofr Catalog; click Manage catalog then, Upload catalog and Update existing catalog items

  • Click Upload CSV and select your edited CSV file

  • Click Import to finish uploading


💡 The more you know:

Item Type: Material, Labor, or Other

  • Use this label to categorize your item as material (shingles, nails, underlayment), labor (installation hours, crew time), or other (equipment rentals, permits, disposal fees) to better organize and classify your catalog items.

Description Field:

  • Add a detailed description to explain the purpose, specifications, or function of the item. This description will be visible to customers on their proposals, so make it clear and professional.
