Am I insured to drive other cars?

Updated over a year ago

For policies starting ROO-CAR:

This will be added automatically if you are eligible and will be on your insurance certificate for you to see.

You will need to be over 25 years old from the start date of your policy for you to have third party cover driving other cars.

With some occupations, such as a delivery driver, we don't cover you to drive other cars, but if you're unsure please contact us via Live Chat within the app or on the website and we will be happy to check for you.

For policies starting ROO-TEL:

This will be added automatically if you are eligible.

With all our policies, the extended cover only applies to the policy holder if:

  • the car is not owned by you or hired to you under a rental, hire purchase, or lease agreement

  • the car is fitted with < 7 seats in total

  • there is no other insurance in force that covers the same claim

  • there is valid and current insurance held for the other car

  • the car has not been seized by the police or any government or public authority

  • you have the owners permission to drive

If you have any further questions regarding driving other cars (DOC), please reach out to us via our Live Chat on the app or on our website. We'll be happy to help!😊
