How to log in to the Child Account

Overview

Each child has their own profile to track money, goals, pots, and card balance.

Below you will see different ways you can help your child login to their account by viewing the scenario that best fits your situation.

Before You Begin

✓ Child profile created

✓ App installed on child's device

✓ Child present if using QR code

✓ Subscription determines login type

Scenario 1: Parent Lets Child Create Login Details

1. Parent dashboard → child profile → Set login details

2. Select: Child has own device

3. Select: Child will set login details

4. If child present → Scan QR

5. Child opens app → Child → Activate my account

6. Child sets username & password

7. If child not present → share link

Scenario 2: Parent Sets Up Login Details

1. Parent dashboard → Set login details

2. Choose access method

3. Rooster Card or child device → username/password 4. Free plan on parent device → 4■digit passcode

Scenario 3: Child Creates Login

1. Open app → Child → Activate my account 2. Choose QR or link

3. Create username & password

Scenario 4: Reset Forgotten Password

1. Child taps Forgot Password

2. Parent assists

3. Reset using QR/link or parent settings

FAQs

Why does the app say that the QR code or link is expired/invalid/incorrect?

The QR code or link is only valid for 24 hours, if it has been over 24 hours since the QR code or link was created, then the parent or guardian will just need to follow the steps again to create a new QR code or link.

What if my child changes their device?

Your child will need to re-download their NatWest Rooster Money app, but their current username and password will still work on the new device.

Can I log into my child’s profile for them?

Parent's can access the child account on behalf of their children, and this is an ideal way for younger children to check their accounts if they don't yet have their own device

  1. Click on your profile photo in the top left corner of your Parent Account

  2. Select 'Switch User'

  3. Choose the account you want to access

  4. If this is the first time you are accessing this account, then you will need to set a passcode or password

  5. Enter the passcode or password to save it, or enter the passcode or password to access the account if you have previously set one up
