Here are several solutions, ranked from simplest to advanced:
Solution 1: Uninstall and reinstall Roots
The simplest option is to uninstall and reinstall the Roots app. This will reset the "Screentime" permissions and allow you to access your settings again.
Just a heads-up — this will erase any historical data within the app and remove all your blocks and app groups. If you reinstall Roots later, you’ll need to set everything up again from scratch.
Note: If you have "App Uninstall Protection" enabled in Roots, this won't work - try the next solution instead.
Solution 2: Delete the "Settings" shortcut redirect
If you can access the "Shortcuts" app:
Open the "Shortcuts" app
Find and delete the automation that redirects you away from "Settings"
Important: If your "Shortcuts" app is blocked on a schedule or after a time limit is reached, you'll need to wait until it's unblocked before you can remove the shortcut.
Solution 3: Restart your phone and access "Screen Time" immediately
"Shortcuts" automations usually take a few minutes to activate after a restart:
Restart your iPhone
As soon as your phone turns back on, immediately go to "Settings > Screen Time"
Make your changes before the shortcut automation kicks back in
Solution 4: Access settings through "Control Center"
This workaround bypasses the "Shortcuts" automation:
Swipe down from the top-right corner to open "Control Center"
Long-press on the "WiFi" icon
Tap the toggle button under "WiFi" to turn it off
Tap "WiFi Settings"
From there, you can navigate to the main iOS settings menu
Go to "Screen Time" and make your changes
