In our first year at a site, we do not allow poly tunnels or sheds until we understand the areas conditions. This helps us avoid any mishaps like flying tunnels into roads or damaging the local environment.
We do not allow greenhouses, sorry.
Sheds are permitted under the following guidelines:
Must be under 6ft tall
Must contain no glass
Green in colour is preferable, to blend into the environment
Remember to add a water butt to your shed to collect rain water
We require you to email us before purchasing or installing a shed for approval
Any natural structures such as bean poles and small brassica cages are fine without asking
Poly tunnels are not permitted on any site, unless you have been growing with Roots for 2 years and we have approved the site as large structure appropriate. Again, we require you to email us before purchasing or installing a poly tunnel for approval.
Growing with us for two years will demonstrate your commitment, responsible use of resources and respect for the environment. We will ask that you secure them well into the ground to prevent them from blowing into other people's patches.
