2026 Football Draft Kit & Draft Assistant: What's New

Everything new in our revamped draft tools for this season.

Our Draft Kit (app) and Draft Assistant (web) have taken significant steps forward since last season. The purpose of this article is to cover these upgrades, show you where to find them, and explain how to use them with draft season upon us. Since the app and web-based assistant are essentially the same tools, I will simply refer to it as the Draft Assistant or Assistant throughout this article.

If you're looking for a more general overview of the Draft Kit/Assistant, please view last year's tutorial.

Draft Plan Upgrades

The ability to create your own Draft Plan was a central piece of the retooled Assistant last year. Having it supply you with suggested picks, built on a strategy you could create yourself, was something we had not been able to offer before.

Now, in 2026, we've taken this feature to much greater heights, and it is the cornerstone of this year's biggest improvements.

Now, when you reach the end of the Draft Plan, you'll have the option to Review Your Cheat Sheet,

Reviewing your cheat sheet opens up a whole new set of personalization options that weren't available last year.

On the web, you'll see something like this,

While on the app, it'll look like this,

The main functional difference being, in the app, you have a tag icon (for adding player tags) and arrow icons (for adding tiers). In the web version, you can hit add tag, and have the options display.

You can also trigger the insert tier option by scrolling your mouse between the players.

Using the circle "grabber" icons on the left, you can drag and drop players, giving you full control over where players are ranked, if you prefer to have your own.

There's an even further level of customization for your cheat sheet that can take place here on desktops and laptops by clicking Customize above the player table,

There are over a dozen categories you can add to your cheat sheet, plus the option to adjust the order they're displayed.

This option is not available in the app while building your draft plan, but is in the Cheat Sheet portion of the Draft Room,

Another option currently available in the web version only is to import your own rankings, or export the cheat sheet you made to CSV, by clicking the More tab at the top right of the cheat sheet.

One last added enhancement this year with Draft Plans: the ability to use ones created by our RotoWire experts.

By visiting our Draft Plans page, you can see plans created by our experts, click their Draft Plan, and select Use in Mock Draft or Draft Assistant.

ESPN Live Sync

In past years, you've been able to live sync your web-based drafts with Yahoo, CBS, Sleeper, Fantrax, and MFL. Now, you can add ESPN to the list.

Please note that live draft sync is only available on the web-based Draft Assistant and is not yet available in the app.

Submit-to-Site

By making an adjustment in your draft room settings, you can now draft your team straight from the Draft Assistant. There is no need to go back and forth between our site and your league’s draft room anymore.

You can turn this on by tapping Settings in the bottom left of the draft room, then turning Submit-to-Site on.

The picture shown is in the off position.

Depth Charts

Depth Charts are officially back in our draft products after a one-year absence.
You'll find them located on the menu on the left in the assistant,

Or in the "More" section of the app,

Player Notes

The ability to add player notes is now available in the player panels. Just click on a player you want to make a note on, and click on the box under My Notes.

Expanded ADP Sources

Last season, we were only able to offer a consensus, average ADP in the draft assistant. However, you now have a choice between Sleeper, ESPN, Yahoo, NFFC, Underdog, Fantrax, and MFL, giving you greater accuracy when evaluating your draft choices.
