You can automatically request verification through the RueBaRue Scheduler or manually request verification for an individual reservation.
Why Use Guest ID Verification?
Guest ID Verification provides an additional layer of confidence before a guest arrives.
It can help you:
Know who is checking in.
Add another layer of protection to your pre-arrival process.
Protect the homes you manage.
Demonstrate your guest-screening process to homeowners.
Differentiate your management service when speaking with prospective owners.
You decide when verification makes sense—use it for every reservation, selected properties, or individual bookings.
How It Works
Send the guest an ID Verification link.
The guest confirms their reservation and reviews your House Rules, if enabled.
The guest verifies their government-issued photo ID.
The guest completes a biometric face check.
View the verification status directly in RueBaRue.
Set Up Your House Rules
You can display your House Rules during the Guest Check-In and ID Verification flows.
Go to Settings → House Rules.
Enter your House Rules in the Content field. You can use Markdown to format your content. Click View Styles to see the available formatting options.
Then choose where your House Rules should appear:
Show on Guest Check-In Flow
Show on ID Verification Flow
You can enable either option or both.
When House Rules are enabled, guests must confirm that they have read and agree to the rules before continuing.
Send ID Verification Automatically
You can automatically send ID Verification requests using the Scheduler.
Go to Scheduler.
Create a new scheduled message or edit an existing one.
Add the
[GuestIDVCheckIn]macro to your message.Choose when the message should be sent.
Save the scheduled message.
When RueBaRue sends the message, the [GuestIDVCheckIn] macro is replaced with the unique ID Verification link for that reservation.
Send Only to Selected Properties
You don’t have to require ID Verification for every reservation.
Use property tags in the Scheduler to send the verification message only to reservations for selected properties.
For example, you might use ID Verification for:
Direct bookings
Luxury or higher-value properties
Owner-requested properties
Selected groups of homes
This lets you start with a few properties and expand ID Verification when needed.
Send ID Verification Manually
You can also send an ID Verification request for an individual reservation.
Go to the Guests page, find the reservation, and select the option to send the guest an ID Verification request.
This is useful when a reservation isn’t included in your automated Scheduler workflow, but you still want the guest to complete verification.
View Verification Status
You can see the guest’s ID Verification status directly in RueBaRue. Statuses may include:
Pending — The guest has not completed verification.
Approved — The guest successfully completed verification.
Declined — The verification was not approved.
Review Required — The verification requires additional review.
Getting Started
Contact the RueBaRue team to enable Guest ID Verification for your account.
Once enabled, configure your House Rules, add the [GuestIDVCheckIn] macro to your scheduled message, and use property tags to determine which reservations should receive an ID Verification request.
