Tips for Creating an Event
We encourage you to review the following tips when creating and submitting your event.
Event Name
Choose a clear and accurate event title.
Event names should be 75 characters or less for clarity and readability.
Uploading event flyers
Your event flyer must be in JPG, PNG, or GIF format.
The maximum file size is 10MB.
Recommended dimensions: 800 x 1170 pixels.
Ensure the image is clear, high-quality, and not blurry.
Event Date and Time
If you’re unsure about your event’s end time, turn the "Show end date and time" toggle OFF to hide this information from your guests.
Event Location
To help maintain privacy and security of your event, the exact location will remain hidden on event details pages until a guest is confirmed. Only the City and State are shown until the guest is confirmed.
If you'd like to hide the address even for Confirmed guests, you can turn the "Show full address for confirmed guests" toggle OFF.
Event Description
Although optional, event descriptions are recommended. Provide a clear and detailed event description with all relevant information.
Ensure the description is accurate to set the right expectations for attendees.
Best Practices
Ensure Accuracy
Double-check all event details before creating your event.
Ensure the event title, description, and promotional materials accurately reflect the event's purpose.
Be transparent about any fees or additional costs to prevent misunderstandings.
Respect Guest Privacy
Do not solicit or share users' personal contact information, (e.g. emails, phone numbers).
If your event involves recording, notify attendees in advance.
Clearly explain how any recordings will be used, stored, and shared.
Encourage Safety
Host events that prioritize the safety and well-being of attendees.
Events promoting harmful practices, illegal activities, or unsafe behavior will be rejected or removed immediately.
Following Community Guidelines
Ensure your event is suitable for the intended audience.
If your event has age restrictions, indicate this when creating your event.
Abide by all Rumor community guidelines when hosting events and engaging with attendees.
Cancelling Your Event
If unforeseen circumstances arise that could put guests at risk, cancel your event.
