RSVP to an Event you are Invited to

Rumor makes it easy to RSVP to events you are invited to on the app. Follow the steps below to view your invites, fill out guest details (optional), submit your RSVP, and view your confirmation ticket.

When you get invited to an event you will receive either an email or SMS notification - please download Rumor (if you don't already have the app) on the App Store or Google Play and login using either the email or phone number you were invited with.

After logging into the app, you can access your event invite through two methods: the event dashboard or notifications.

  1. The Event Dashboard (Invited Tab)

    1. Navigate to your 'Event Dashboard' by clicking 'Events' or the lightning bolt icon at the bottom of the screen.

      1. Select the 'Invited' Tab

        1. Here you will see all of the events you have been invited to.

      2. Click 'View Event', on one of the events, to open the event details page.

      3. Select 'RSVP' at the bottom of the page to fill out your RSVP information.

    2. Submitting your RSVP

      1. To accept your invite select 'Yes' and follow any additional prompts.

      2. You must choose either 'Yes' or 'No'. before successfully submitting your RSVP.

    3. Declining an Invite

      1. If you select 'No', you will be asked to provide a reason for declining.

        1. This response will be visible to the event host.

      2. Once submitted, your RSVP cannot be changed. If you later decide you wish to attend the event, you must request a new invite from the host.

    4. Adding Guests to your RSVP (if allowed by Host)

      1. If the host allows additional guests, you will be prompted to select the number of guests (allocated by the Host) you would like to bring.

        1. Note: Adding your additional guest details at the time of RSVPing is optional. You can add them at a later date, but they must be added before the event starts.

      2. Select 'Add Guest Details' to enter their information.

        1. Adding from Contacts:

          1. Allow Rumor to access your contacts.

          2. Toggle 'Add from Contacts' and scroll or search for a guest you would like to add. Select 'Add' to autofill their guest details (first name, last name, phone number).

          3. Edit guest details if needed before selecting 'Add Guest'.

            1. Note: Editing guest details within Rumor will not change your phone's contact list.

        2. Adding Manually:

          1. Toggle 'Add Manually' and enter the guest's first name, last name, and email.

          2. Once all guest details are added select 'Add Guest'.

        3. When your guest details have been added to the RSVP page select 'Submit' to submit your invite.

    5. After submitting your RSVP, your event status will update to 'You are going' and the event will move the 'Upcoming' tab in your Event Dashboard.

    6. Accessing your RSVP Confirmation Ticket or QR Code

      1. Go to the 'Upcoming' tab in your Event Dashboard.

      2. Click the event and then 'View Ticket' at the bottom of the page.

      3. Your RSVP confirmation ticket and/or QR code will be displayed. Please show this ticket/QR when checking in to the event.

  2. Notifications

    1. When a host invites you to an event, you will receive an in-app notification.

    2. Select the bell icon in the upper-right corner of your screen to access your notifications.

    3. The notification will include the host's name and event name.

    4. Select the notification to go directly to the event page and complete your RSVP.
