Do I have to use RV Help Payments, or can I keep using my own system?

Whether RV Help Payments is required, how it works with QuickBooks and your own invoicing, and what the 5% depends on.

The short version

RV Help Payments is optional for marketplace work — you're welcome to keep using your own invoicing and card processing. Turning RV Help Payments on is what unlocks scheduling, invoicing, the CRM, parts tracking, the QuickBooks integration, and the free website builder, and it's the way the 5% referral fee on RV-Help-referred jobs is handled automatically.

Can I keep using QuickBooks / my own credit card processing?

Yes. You can continue to run your own accounting and payment tools. Many providers use RV Help for scheduling and lead management while keeping their existing systems. A QuickBooks integration is coming in July 2026 for RV Help Payments so your invoices and jobs can export automatically.

Then how does the 5% fee work if I use my own system?

The 5% is a referral fee on jobs RV Help sends you, and it's collected automatically when the customer pays through RV Help Payments. It applies only when the customer found you through RV Help and you have RV Help Payments turned on. Customers you bring in yourself are never charged a fee, even if you run them through RV Help tools.

Do I still update the job in RV Help if I take payment elsewhere?

Yes — keep the job status current in RV Help even if you invoice off-platform, so the customer sees where things stand and your dashboard stays accurate. If you've turned on RV Help Payments, click Schedule to confirm the appointment regardless of how you'll collect payment. You can use your own scheduling software too, as long as you enter the appointment in RV Help.
