When using the Ryde app, or working with some of our clients, you may be asked to take a photo as proof you have delivered a package.

The do's...

When taking a photo for proof of delivery there are three important parts to get right.

Keep a good distance from the package

This allows more of your surroundings to be seen and ensures the package and location are easily identifiable.

The package is clearly delivered or in a safe space

This means not taking a photo from outside a building or from inside your delivery vehicle before you deliver it. Sometimes having the customer hold the package without including their face is a good policy, Then it is clear that delivery was successful and there were no problems.

There is context about where it is

It's really important to get something identifiable about the location. If delivering to a concierge maybe include their reception desk. Or if to an office, get the office sign in the photo.

The don't's...

Here are some examples of what not to do when taking your proof of delivery photo.

The parcel isn't included

Always make sure the parcel you are delivering is visible in the photo. Just a shot of the address building or location is not enough.

The picture is from outside the building

We need to know the item was delivered to its location, so having a customer holding it, it being in an open door, or on a concierge desk is always a good idea.

Too close to package or not enough location

If the picture is only of the package or the background is too vague, this is not ideal. It's always best to take a few steps back and include some context about where you're delivering. A desk or a sign on the office door are good options.
