What does this base report show?

Get an overview of your canonicals in this base report. See a list of your URLs on the left hand side of the column, with their canonical targets on the right. Canonical tags help show search engines what page to index, helping to avoid duplicate content. It's best practice to include a canonical tag on all pages of your website. Usually, the canonical tag should reference the page itself. This makes it clear to search engines that these pages should be included in the index, to be found by users in search engine result pages.

How can I work with this report?

A number of columns are added as default, but you can click on "customize table" to add or remove any columns and get the data you need. You can also add filters to view a specific subset of data and sort the table.Example:

  1. Sort according to canonical target to quickly identify canonicals that are not referring to themselves.
