When you try to log in to a Sage HR, and you're prompted to enrol on 2FA, the Set up authentication button appears.
To make authentication easier, the Sage Verify mobile app is available now in the UK and Ireland.
📎NOTE: If you've already set up 2FA with another method, you can still move to Sage Verify. This move means you can authenticate your logins by approving a notification, instead of entering a six-digit code.
For help with doing this, follow the how do I move to the Sage Verify mobile app article.
Set up Sage Verify
Follow the steps below to install Sage Verify on your mobile device and set it up as your 2FA method.
Go to the app store on your mobile device.
Search for Sage Verify and install the app.
On the page where your prompted to set up 2FA, select the Set up authentication button, then select Continue.
Open the Sage Verify app and scan the QR code in the login screen.
When prompted, tap Allow on the notifications message.
📌TIP: By allowing notifications, you can authenticate future logins by tapping the Sage Verify notification. If you don’t allow notifications at this stage, you’ll only be able to log in using Sage Verify by entering the six‑digit code shown in the app
A message confirms you've added your account in the Sage Verify app.
The logon screen now displays your Account recovery key. Take note of this.
📎NOTE: Note the recovery key and keep it safe. If you ever need to log in but don't have your 2FA device, you can use the recovery key instead.
Select the checkbox beside I've saved my recovery key then select Continue.
Select Continue to access the Sage product or service you logged in to.
You've set up Sage Verify as your 2FA method. When you log in to your Sage product or service, you authenticate your login using the Sage Verify app.
Set up a backup method
If you use a 'Customer' Sage account, you should set up a backup method.
This is an alternative email address or phone number you can use to access a new recovery key to log in. Alternatively, you can use the backup method to reset 2FA on your Sage account.
