I haven't received a password reset email

Use these checks if your Sage account password reset email for Sage HR doesn’t arrive.

This article applies when you try to reset your Sage account password but don’t receive the reset email.

If you can’t sign in at all, use the I can’t log in to Sage HR guide instead.


Common reasons the email doesn’t arrive

This usually happens because:

  • You haven’t set up access from your welcome email

  • You entered the wrong email address

  • The email went to junk or spam

  • Email security blocked the message

  • You used the wrong reset page

In some cases, your employer must contact Sage Support to resolve this.


Check your junk/spam folder

Check your junk or spam folder.

Wait up to 15 minutes for the email to arrive.

Add donotreply@notify.sage.com to your safe senders list.

Delete old Sage HR notification emails before requesting a new reset.


Check you used the correct reset page

You must select Forgot password? on the Sage account sign‑in page.

📎NOTE: Password reset links on other Sage HR pages don’t work for Sage account users.


Check you’ve set up access from your welcome email

You can’t reset your password until you set up access from your welcome email and sign in at least once.

📎NOTE: Receiving payslip notifications doesn’t confirm account setup.

If you haven’t set up access

Contact your employer and ask them to resend your welcome email.

Only your employer can send or resend this invite.

If you’re not sure

Ask your employer to check the access log report.

If you’ve never signed in, they must resend your welcome email.


Confirm your email address

Ask your employer to confirm the Work email on your Sage HR profile.

Make sure it matches the email you used for the reset request.

Check for typos or use of a different email address.

They can contact Sage HR Support for further help.
