Create a labour-based time off policy

How to set up a time off policy in Sage HR to accrue time off based on time worked by an employee.

If you want time off to accrue based on hours or days worked, create a labour‑based policy.

To do this, create a time off policy. When choosing how you want Sage HR to allocate days and how they accrue, select based on time worked and accrue.

You can select how many hours or days you want Sage HR to allocate for every day or hour you log. For example, accrue 0.07 days for every one day an employee has worked.


Considering working days

There are three ways to base how a labour policy considers what determines working days and daily hours. You can either accrue time off based on:

⚠️CAUTION: When you create a labour-based policy, some settings in the policy you can't edit after you create it. Make sure you have everything how you want for the policy before you click Create or Save.
