If you can’t access your authenticator app or phone number when logging into Sage HR, you can use your recovery key. This is the 24-digit code that you're asked to note down and keep safe when you first set up 2FA.
Recovery keys are one-time-use codes that provide backup access to your account when you can't use your primary 2FA method. Once you use a recovery key, it becomes invalid, and you're provided a new recovery key to use for next time.
EXAMPLE: VNDS - 79KB - 7JAJ - QNKA - F5F7 - YUPX
How to use your recovery key
On the 2FA login screen, when you're prompted to enter your 6-digit code, click Authenticate a different way instead.
Select Recovery key.
Enter your recovery key.
Click Continue.
You'll see a new recovery key. Note down your new recovery key and keep it somewhere safe. You'll need this if you ever don't have access to your 2FA device.
Can't use your recovery key?
If you've lost your recovery key, or it's not working:
If you use a Customer Sage account, use your backup method to generate a new recovery key
If you use an Employee Sage account, an admin user for the company can reset 2FA for you
📌TIP: If you don't know whether you use a 'Customer' or 'Employee' Sage account, you can tell by how your login screen looks. An admin can also tell within Personal settings of your profile.
