Before connecting your account to Salesflow, it’s important to take a few precautionary steps to ensure a smooth setup and protect your LinkedIn profile. This checklist outlines best practices to help keep your account safe and ready for automation.
2FA: Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) on your LinkedIn account, regardless of your license type.
Verification before onboarding: LinkedIn is increasingly encouraging users to verify their identity. Completing ID verification proves you're human and helps reduce the risk of account restrictions. Learn more here.
Account quality: Avoid connecting dummy or fake profiles. LinkedIn’s detection systems can easily flag these accounts.
Your network: A minimum of 500 connections is recommended. While lower counts are acceptable, the warm-up process will take longer.
Account age: Your LinkedIn account should be at least 6 months to 1 year old before onboarding to Salesflow. Newer accounts are more likely to face restrictions.
Active sessions: Limit your active sessions to fewer than two. Before connecting to Salesflow, go to LinkedIn > Settings > Sign in & Security > Where You’re Signed In, and end all other active sessions.
Using another tool? Avoid connecting the same LinkedIn account to multiple automation tools. Each tool typically uses a different IP, which increases the risk of triggering LinkedIn restrictions.
Pre-automation activity: Match your usual activity levels before fully automating. If you’ve been sending 5 invites per week manually, start your Salesflow campaigns at the same or lower rate for the first two weeks. Gradually increase the volume afterward.
Social Selling Index (SSI score): If applicable, a higher SSI score generally means your account is more trusted and less likely to be flagged.
While following these steps significantly reduces risk, LinkedIn restrictions can still occur. Here are some common signs your account may have been flagged:
You’re asked to complete captchas more frequently than usual
You’re prompted for verification codes every time you log in
A sudden drop in acceptance or response rates on a previously successful campaign
If you notice any of these signs, reduce your activity by 50% or stop entirely for at least one week. After that, gradually resume activity over the course of a month.
Be sure to revisit the checklist above and complete any steps you may have missed.
