We’re excited to announce a brand-new Payment Interface in the 115.5 version of the SalesPlay POS App! Based on your valuable feedback and user experience insights, we have redesigned the payment process to be faster, smarter, and more user-friendly.

With this update, we’ve reduced and eliminated several manual steps, especially the need to manually enter currency notes, by introducing easy-to-use currency buttons. This new interface will save cashiers and users significant time during checkout.

Additionally, the system now intelligently suggests possible payment values and settlement options to simplify transactions.

What’s New in the Payment Interface?

1. Payment Type Placement

  • Before: Payment types were displayed at the top section.

  • Now: The default payment type appears on the right-hand side for easier access and better visibility. Other payment types are shown below the currency note section.

(All these changes apply to landscape mode only. In portrait mode, currency notes and alternative settlement options will not be displayed. The default payment type and other payment types will appear below.)

2. Country-Specific Currency Note Options

The system now automatically displays relevant currency denominations based on the registered country (e.g., 50, 100, 200, 500 notes), speeding up cash transactions.

Example:
For a bill amount of 400, you’ll see currency notes like:

  • 500

  • 1000

  • 5000

These currency notes help users quickly select settlement amounts.

(All these changes apply to landscape mode only. In portrait mode, currency notes and alternative settlement options will not be displayed. The default payment type and other payment types will appear below.)

3. Add New Currency Notes and Coins

You can now add newly issued or unlisted currency notes and coins to the system.

How to add a currency note or coin:

  1. Log in to the BackOffice web portal

  2. Go to Settings > Features

  3. Select the “Manage Currency” and tick ON it & SAVE

(Once you ON “Manage Currency”, it will appear as a sub-menu in the Settings section)

  1. Select “Currency” from the sub-menu in the system settings list

  2. Add the new currency note or coin and press ENTER

  3. Click Update

Note: You can add up to 10 notes or coins.

4. Alternative Settlement Options

The system automatically calculates and displays the nearest alternative settlement amounts based on your available notes and coins.

Example:
For a bill amount of 140, suggested settlement options could be:

  • 150

  • 200

  • 500

To enable this, ensure you add relevant coins and notes (e.g., coins of 1,2, 5, 10 and notes of 20, 50, 100). The system may combine coins and notes or suggest either, depending on availability.

5. One-Tap Payment with Optional Confirmation

Tapping a suggested currency value will automatically process the payment.

If you prefer to confirm before finalizing payment, enable the Double Confirmation setting:

How to enable Double Confirmation:

  1. Log in to the BackOffice web portal

  2. Navigate to Settings > Payment Types

  3. Select the payment method (e.g., Cash)

  4. Check the box for Double Confirmation

  5. Click Update

Once enabled, clicking a currency note or suggested payment value will prompt a confirmation before processing. This setting applies to all payment types, including Cash, Card, Credit, and Cheque.

6. Multi-Payment Handling via the SPLIT Feature

The separate "Multi Payment" button has been replaced with the new SPLIT feature for easier multi-payment processing.

How to use the SPLIT feature:

  1. Open the POS App

  2. Add products to the cart

  3. Click the CHARGE button

  4. Tap the SPLIT button at the top-right

  5. Select the first payment type from the dropdown

  6. Enter the payment amount and click CHARGE

  7. Click CONTINUE

  8. Select the second payment type, enter the amount, and click CHARGE

  9. Click DONE to complete the transaction

You can split payments between cash, card, and other available methods seamlessly.

7. Improved Alternative Currency Handling

  • New Placement: Alternative currencies are now displayed on the left-hand side for easier identification (previously on the right).

  • Enhanced Visuals: Currency symbols are clearer, with alternative currency notes and suggested settlement values provided for quick payments.
