Using multi-axis pricing, you give prospects more choice by allowing them to choose how many units they need. You create the unit, set the price per unit and allow the prospect to adjust the quantity. SalesRight offers four different models of multi-axis pricing: Per Unit, Stair-Step, Tiered and Volume.

Breakdown of multi-axis pricing models

Per Unit Pricing

This model is used to price based on a per-unit quantity like a number of users. You create the unit, set the price per unit and allow the prospect to adjust the quantity.

Example:

Regardless of how many units your prospect chooses, the price will $10/unit.

Tiered Pricing

This model is used to sell units at varying price points. The units are sorted into brackets and each bracket has a unit quantity range and a price per unit. Typically, as the quantity increases, the price per unit decreases. You create the bracket, set the unit quantity range, set the price per unit and allow your prospect to choose the quantity. Based on the quantity your prospect chooses, the appropriate price per bracket (or brackets) will be charged.

Example:

If your prospect chooses 10 units, the price will be $100. The breakdown of the charge will be 10 units x $10.

If your prospect chooses 55 units, the price will be $465. The breakdown of the charge is (10 units x $10) + (10 units x $9) + (30 units x $8) + (5 units x $7).

Volume Pricing

This model is used when the price of the unit changes according to the quantity purchased. Typically, the unit price decreases when the quantity increases. You create the quantity brackets, set the prices and allow your prospect to choose the quantity they want.

Unlike tiered pricing, where the units may have varying prices based on the tier, with volume pricing, all units are the same price.

Example:

If your prospect chooses 10 units, the price will be $100. The breakdown of the charge will be 10 units x $10.

If your prospect chooses 25 units, the price will be $200. The breakdown of the charge will be 25 units x $8.

Stair-Step Pricing

This model is used when you want to assign a price to a bracketed amount of units, instead of individual units. This allows your prospect to have flexibility in the number of units while maintaining a consistent price until another bracket level is necessary.

Example:

If your prospect chooses 8 units, the price will be $10, and they will have up to 10 units to use.

If your prospect chooses 200 units, the price will be $100.

How multi-axis pricing works

Using multi-axis pricing, you can give your prospects the option to add more users to the tier of their choice.

As you can see, the prospect can add additional users at a cost of $10 per user/month and the total price is adjusted in the estimate on the right side.
