Before You Start
You can download the template in Step 3 of the Tag Import Wizard, located in the Tag section of Falcon in your Cockpit.
The template includes three tabs:
Template
This is the tab you should complete.Instructions
This tab explains how the template works. It should not be imported.Options
This tab includes the available values for certain fields, such as categories, colors, and TRUE or FALSE options.
Please do not delete, rename, or reorder any columns in the Template tab unless you are updating one of the custom URL parameter columns.
If a column does not apply to your tag setup, you can leave it empty. Empty columns will be ignored during the import.
Understanding the Column Colors
The template uses column colors to help show which fields are required and what each section is used for.
Blue columns
Required tag details.Gray columns
Optional tag settings.Purple columns
Timing and frequency settings, such as expiration and count.Yellow columns
Referrer based conditions.Green columns
Standard UTM and URL parameter conditions.Orange columns
Custom URL parameter conditions.
Required Fields
The blue columns are required. These fields must be completed for every tag you want to create.
Required fields include:
Tag name
The name of the tag that will be created in SalesWings.Tag category
The category used to group the tag. Please use one of the available categories listed in the Options tab.Emoji
Uses TRUE or FALSE.TRUE means the tag will use the emoji connected to the selected category.
FALSE means no emoji will be added to the tag name.
Tag description
A short explanation of what the tag means or why it is being applied. This helps your team understand the purpose of the tag.Show to sales
Uses TRUE or FALSE.TRUE means the tag can be shown in places like the cockpit lead layout, CRM sales insights, or lead link views.
FALSE means the tag can still be used for reporting and filtering, but it will not be shown to sales.
Optional Tag Settings
Some fields are optional and can be used if they apply to your tag setup.
Tag color
Controls the color of the tag. If no color is selected, the tag will use the default color.Expiration
Defines how many days after a matching activity the lead will lose the tag.Example:
If the expiration is set to 180, the tag will be removed 180 days after the lead last completed a matching activity.Count
Defines how many times the lead needs to complete the full matching activity before the tag is applied.Example:
If the count is set to 2, the lead must complete the activity more than two times before receiving the tag.
How Conditions Work
Condition columns define when the tag should be applied to a lead.
If multiple condition columns are filled in on the same row, all of those conditions must be true for the tag to apply.
Example:
utm_medium = email
utm_campaign = spring_campaign
In this case, the lead must match both conditions before the tag is applied.
Using UTM Conditions
The green columns are used for standard UTM conditions, such as:
utm_medium
utm_campaign
utm_source
utm_term
utm_content
How values work:
A single value uses EQUALS logic.
Multiple values should be separated with a semicolon.
Multiple values use CONTAINS ANY OF logic.
Example:
email;newsletter;automation
This means the tag can apply if the lead matches any of those values.
Using Referrer Conditions
The yellow Referrer column is used when you want to apply a tag based on the external URL a lead came from.
Referrer conditions use CONTAINS logic.
Example:
www.example.com
SalesWings will apply the tag when a lead visits from a referrer URL containing that value.
You can also include multiple referrer values by separating them with a semicolon.
Example:
www.example.com;partner.example.com;directory.example.com
Using Custom URL Parameters
The orange columns are used for custom URL parameters.
You can rename the orange column header to match the custom parameter you want to track.
Important:
Do not include the question mark.
Add the custom URL parameter as the column header.
Add the values you want SalesWings to look for in the rows below.
Separate multiple values with a semicolon.
Correct example:
internal_ID
Incorrect example:
?internal_ID
