What's changing?
On July 1st, 2026, we're updating how the Salonized Register handles sales, receipts, and invoices. For most day-to-day use, things will feel cleaner and more logical. But if you work with an accountant or bookkeeper, there are a few specific things worth passing on to them - especially around document numbering.
Sales, receipts, and invoices are now three separate things
Previously, Salonized used the word "invoice" loosely — it could mean a regular sale, an unpaid order, or a formal document sent to a client. That's changing.
From July 1st:
A sale is the transaction record. Every appointment or product sold creates a sale.
A receipt is the payment confirmation document, generated automatically when a sale is paid or when a deposit is made.
An invoice is a formal financial document, issued on request. For example, when a business client needs one for their records.
These are now distinct, with their own document types, their own numbering, and their own flows in the register.
New numbering: what your accountant needs to know
This is the most important change from a financial admin perspective. Prior to July 1st, all documents shared a single sequential number series (e.g. 2026-0001, 2026-0350).
From July 1st, three separate sequences begin:
Type | New format | Example |
Sale | SAL-2026-<counter> | SAL-2026-0001 |
Receipt | RCP-2026-<counter> | RCP-2026-0001 |
Invoice | INV-2026-<counter> | INV-2026-0001 |
Each sequence is independent, sequential, and uninterrupted. They restart from 0001 on July 1st. This is a deliberate, documented break - not a gap or error.
Your historical data is untouched
All sales, receipts, and documents created before July 1st remain exactly as they were. Old documents are still visible, exportable, and complete. Nothing has been deleted or altered.
