Apple leads the way in providing support for developers to build health apps. By comparison, Google Fit focusses on fitness more than health, and doesn’t have a great track record - its predecessor Google Health was shut down in 2011.
In order to deliver the app to you as soon as possible, we decided to focus our efforts on iPhone.
However, our research shows that there is roughly a 50:50 iOS/Android split between potential Butterfly users. As we’re approaching the end of the first phase of iPhone development, we’ve started to plan for an Android version.
