The first part of interior design is the creative and visual “moodboarding” stage and the second part becomes more “technical”. The actual procurement and purchasing of products proposed on the moodboard happens after the moodboard design is created, presented and approved by the client.

This is a very time intensive second stage – often filled with many obstacles.

Some designers choose to create moodboard designs using items from popular retail vendors only, and provide the final, approved moodboard with the purchase list to the client to handle the details (also known as ‘shop the look yourself’).

This option has become a standard e-design service offering for many of our customers.

Traditional interior designers still handle the FF&E (Furniture, Fixture and Equipment) purchasing. It simply means purchasing all the approved goods on behalf of the client, and this is only logistically possible if you reside in the same area as your client.
