Visit your favourite vendors and online shops, search Google Images or Pinterest, and save any image or product photo straight onto your moodboard canvas with our handy image address importer.

How to import an image from the web

Step 1. Upon browsing vendor or online shops, right-click the image with your mouse. The popup will look something like the screenshot below of the Crate & Barrel website.

Step 2: With the popup open, click one of the following, depending on your browser:

  • Chrome - Click "Copy Image Address"

  • Firefox - Click "Copy Image Location"

  • Microsoft Edge - Click "Copy link"

Step 3. Paste the image address URL into the text box by placing your cursor in the text box and pressing either Ctrl+V (Windows) or ⌘ Command+V (Mac) and hit Import

Your imported image will auto-magically appear right on your canvas! Amazing.

Top Tip:

  • Double check the image address link ends with .png or .jpg when you paste it into the text box, otherwise it won't import. You will be notified if this is the case.

Troubleshooting methods

Some product images on large vendor websites like Crate & Barrel use carousals to showcase their products, these image addresses can be tricky. If this is the case we have a few work-arounds:

Option 1: Save to computer

Right-click and save the product image to your computer, and drag and drop it onto your canvas from there.

Option 2: Use your Pinterest account

Pin the image to Pinterest, and copy the image address URL from Pinterest instead

Option 3: Search Google for image

This option is useful if you're creating a Purchase List to accompany your moodboard for client presentations. This technique will allow you to insert the actual product photo and grab all the details like price, vendor, dims and vendor URL.

  • Find the source of the image from the vendor website by right-click and selecting "Search Google for image" .

  • This will open a new tab. Scroll down to "Pages that include matching images"

  • Click the vendor website

  • Right-click and "Copy image address" and insert into SampleBoard Creator.

  • The image URL should end with .jpg and you're good to go!

You can now insert the product info in the Image Editing Detail tab to populate your Purchase List.
